Michelin Man Smoking

Michelin Man Smoking

It can be hard to find any old cigarette ads, and even harder to just find art with people smoking in it since cigarette advertising was banned in most areas. Which is a pity because some of them are very classy and an interesting snap shot of an era.

This is why you often have to search vintage posters to find this sort of wall art and here, the Michelin Man has come through for you again. Smokin’!

Wallpaper Cut Outs July 18, 2008

I just saw this idea for wallpaper – so cool – in the bedroom, the bedhead was made from a cut out of wallpaper. The wallpaper colours and pattern matches the colour palette of the room, and the pattern of the paper contrasts to the plain white wall.

The paper is then cut into the shape of an ornate bedhead and pasted to the wall and an artistic and affordable bedroom furniture option is born!

Displaying Wall Art May 28, 2008

If you’ve just picked up a new piece of wall art for your home, you will probably just stop at the framers on the way home and get some picture hooks and go about the business of hanging it on your wall. Well, you should stop and think about where you are going to hang your new masterpiece and why.

Looking at the position of your wall art in relation to other decorating features in the room is important, as well as balancing the art with the views from any windows in the room, and maybe your new piece of wall art would look better in a group of pieces, rather than on the wall alone…?

Action Wall Art May 13, 2008

In this exciting painting by Susanne Leasure, she uses a palette of cool colors to create the sensation of a crisp winter day on the coast. Brisk winds are indicated by the sea mist blowing off the tops of the waves and the thick, frothy white foam churning in the foreground. This exhilarating artwork will add a bright focal point to your room, working well with many styles of décor. The waves in ‘Close Out’ are so savage and foaming as they crash into the shore that even the painter has had trouble capturing them. The seascape painting is painted as though it were a photograph and the waves have moved so fast that they have been captured where they were, but only for a split second before appearing in the painting where they are now.

The curl of the waves is just a whisper of water in the air as it cascades into the shore and makes for a beautiful, action packed image.

‘Touching the Tide’Metal art also uses earthy and bronze colors that reflects nature and blends very   well with the outdoors. This delights the naturalists and nature  lovers or anyone who likes a natural look for their home decoration. It also inspires a visual flow of natural environment and space from the interiors of your home to the garden area.

Fine arts in abstract, contemporary, art deco styles do add personality and elegance but if you find them too expensive, you sure can find other graceful methods like opting for framed posters or photo art to decorate your walls with as much creativity and style to make a stunning display.

‘San Simeon Sunset’‘Autumn Reflections’‘Autumn Reflections’‘Autumn Reflections’Canvas art with a difference, wall art par excellence! Call them scintillating seascapes, lush landscapes, abstract beauty or simply dreamscapes… There’s a whole world of beauty that look quite real, essentially as paints of nature especially coastal art. The site I found, www.lovefineart seems much popular and well managed too. There’s a totally awesome way they depict moving water and the paintings speak for themselves as you can see. Vibrant and glowing colors are used often in many artworks that convey happy feelings, inspire and bring tranquillity too. I would happily trade places with the artist as I marvel at the exquisite scenes that he has captured!
